US (OK): MMJ business owners consider legal action amid inspection backlog

Some Oklahomans in the medical cannabis industry say they are considering taking legal action amid the backlog of commercial license inspections. They say people have lost everything because of this, and it's even making things tough for those dealing with serious health conditions.

"I have breast cancer that has metastasized to the bone," Carolyn Hawley said. Carolyn and Matthew Hawley have a grow operation outside of Hugo. That's their main source of income.

"My cancer meds are like $14,700 a month," Carolyn said. "So, it can get tight." They say they're afraid that the backlog of commercial license inspections will cost them their business.

"It's hard to sleep at night sometimes wondering if the next day they're going to come in and close our doors," Matthew said.
