Hemp farm plans Cannabis education event at KSU Tuscarawas

Discussion on Cannabis Legalization and Community Impact Hosted at Kent State Tuscarawas.

Modern Remedies, a Uhrichsville hemp farm, in collaboration with Empower Tuscarawas and Ohio Guidestone, will present a discussion Aug. 30, at Kent State University at Tuscarawas on cannabis legalization and its community impact . The event will be from 9 a.m. to noon in Founders Hall.

Luke Niforatos, executive vice president of Smart Approaches to Marijuana (SAM), will discuss the community impact of cannabis legalization. Don Wirtshafter, a cannabis attorney and founding member of G.W. Pharmaceuticals, will talk about the history of cannabis and minor cannabinoid education. A panel, including human resources consultant Dyann McDowell and Dr. Bridget Cole Williams, will address the risks associated with cannabis use in the workplace and among children.

Pending continuing education credits will be available for social workers and human resources professionals. RSVP to [email protected]. Space is limited.
