Jamestown Council holds off on Medical Cannabis decision

Jamestown City Council Delays Decision on Medical Cannabis Operations.

The Jamestown City Council is waiting a little bit longer to decide whether it will approve medical cannabis operations within the city limits.

The council held a second reading of an ordinance last week that would allow medical cannabis operations within the city. The council also heard from Thomas Wright with Kentucky Total Health Centers, a company seeking to receive one or more medical cannabis licenses from the state.

Wright said the company plans to locate businesses in Russell Springs, and also wants to look at locating in Jamestown if the council passed an ordinance to approve medical cannabis operations.

A lengthy discussion around the topic ensued, with Wright discussing the businesses he operates and the council asking questions for about an hour before the council decided to hold off on making a decision.

It’s unknown exactly when the council will re-examine the topic.
