State announces Branch County will get over $827,000 in Marijuana sales revenue

The Michigan Department of Treasury has announced that Branch County will get over $827,000 while the City of Coldwater will get nearly $649,000 and the Village of Quincy will receive over $177,000 in recreational marijuana excise tax revenue from Fiscal Year 2023.

The Treasury Department announced the distribution of over $87 million to 269 municipalities on Thursday.

There are 14 recreational marijuana business licenses in Branch County with 11 in Coldwater and three in Quincy.

Meanwhile, Hillsdale County is receiving over $472,000 and with its 31 licenses, Calhoun County is getting over $1-point-8 million. St. Joseph County is getting just over $1 million with its 17 licenses.

Last year, Branch County got over $518,000 in marijuana tax revenue while the City of Coldwater got over $414,000 and the Village of Quincy received over $103,000.
