Three people were yesterday charged with conspiring to bring cannabis valued at almost $270,000 into the island.

Kanhai Armstrong, 37, from Pembroke, 25-year-old Victoria Debartolo and 44-year-old Leila Todd, both from Canada, pleaded not guilty to the charge when they appeared in Magistrates’ Court.

Ms Debartolo and Ms Todd also denied having and intending to supply cannabis and Mr Armstrong denied having a digital scale and a grinder for drug use.

The alleged offences occurred between an unknown date and October 7 this year.

Magistrate Craig Attridge adjourned the case to January 13 and released the defendants on $20,000 bail until that time.

They were also ordered to give up all travel documents and attend the Hamilton Police Station three times a week.
