Adidas reveals Hemp Collaborative with Sean Wotherspoon
Said to be one of several pairs Wotherspoon is launching with the Three Stripes this year.
Since teaming up, adidas (XETRA:ADS.DE -0.83%) and Sean Wotherspoon have naturally gone back and forth, with the Three Stripes hosting Wotherpsoon’s creative vision across many of its iconic silhouettes. Having just launched their first Orketro collaboration, Wotherspoon has shared that there’s plenty more to come. For anyone keeping track, this comes as no surprise with him having shared a new Gazelle look in July of last year and a pile of additional collaborations — including the Gazelle “Hemp” he has just revealed today — back in November.
The aforementioned adidas Gazelle “Hemp” looks to be his first take on the classic model to finally hit shelves. However, it’s not the only time adidas has outfitted the old-school silhouette in hemp. In 2010, an eco-friendly pack of Gazelle Hemp colorways from adidas Originals launched, albeit in much simpler presentations. With Wotherspoon, a green base at the upper is covered in white linework with a matching white tongue and Three Stripes. A “hemp” stitched tag pops up at the lateral branding while the heel offers a hit of orange with Wotherspoon branding and the sole dons a gum-flavored look.
At the time of writing, release information regarding the Sean Wotherspoon x adidas Gazelle “Hemp” has not been disclosed aside from noting it as one of several 2023 releases on the way from the duo. Stay tuned for official imagery and a launch date as we dive further into the year.
