Man stabbed with kitchen knife over Pot smoking, parking issues

A man allegedly stabbed someone with a kitchen knife after being confronted over his marijuana smoking habits and parking issues.

The Laredo Police Department announced Monday that Jose Luis Garcia was arrested at the 5100 block of San Francisco.

The 28-year-old man was charged with Aggravated Assault W/ Deadly Weapon (F/2). He was remanded to Webb County Jail on a $60,000 bond Sunday and released the same day.

LPD said the incident occurred Saturday at around 11:46 p.m. An individual stated that he was stabbed in the left arm and he had been cut on the upper part of his face.

Police said the man had gone to Garcia's apartment to "confront him about routinely smoking marijuana and ongoing parking issues."

The discussion reportedly turned physical, and Garcia stabbed the man with a kitchen knife, LPD said.

The victim was taken to the hospital for treatment, with no update provided on his condition.
