5 surprising side effects of CBDA after age 40, expert says
It helps with arthritis and overall inflammation.
Once you hit 40 years of age and over, your body can throw all kinds of curveballs at you. Some individuals already have or may start to develop health ailments at this stage of life, including chronic back pain, diabetes, cardiovascular issues, and more. A healthcare professional will address your particular situation and decide the best course of treatment for you. But did you know there are also surprising side effects of taking CBDA after 40?
Let's start at the beginning. CBDA (cannabidiolic acid) can be found in hemp plants and it's a cannabinoid. Cannabinoids are compounds that make up the active ingredients of marijuana. The plant contains many of them, and they can affect the body in plenty of ways, including providing pain relief, helping with depression, decreasing nausea, and more.
We spoke with Inesa Ponomariovaite, a CBDA expert and CEO of Nesa's Hemp, who addresses how taking this cannabinoid is an extraordinary addition to your routine as you age, so read on to learn more about the surprising side effects of CBDA. Understanding the difference between CBDA products and marijuana products
Nesa's Hemp
According to Ponomariovaite, Nesa's Hemp is a key player when it comes to CBDA hemp oil. She explains to Eat This, Not That!, "There are so many people searching for holistic remedies to heal and ease suffering from cancer and other pathogens—Nesa's Hemp was created for this reason—to heal the world and restore happiness. I created what the industry was missing—the first living CBDA biological product on the market. That is certified beyond any organic levels. The safest, cleanest, and most effective product."
It's easy to get hemp CBDA products mixed up with marijuana products. Note that they differ greatly, and Ponomariovaite lets us in on their differences and legality. "Marijuana products contain mostly THC which is the compound that makes you high. Unlike THC, CBDA actually suppresses THC and works in different ways and doesn't make you high," she says.
It's still questionable as to whether each of the 50 states in the country considers CBD legal.
"In 2018, the Farm Bill (the Agricultural Improvement Act of 2018) made CBD federally legal to produce, purchase, and use under predestined criteria. That means CBD must be extracted from hemp and contain no more than 0.3% THC. CBD that comes from marijuana and exceeds the 0.3% THC limit is still illegal at the federal level, except for instances where scientists study CBD from marijuana for potential health benefits," Ponomariovaite explains.
You can discuss your concerns with a medical professional and decide what you can work into your healthcare regimen. Now let's dive into the surprising side effects of CBDA after age 40.
1. CBDA helps with arthritis and overall inflammation
One of the major benefits of CBDA is to prevent and help fight inflammation. This consists of chronic neck and back pain, and soothing arthritis, a common condition that affects many individuals as they age. "Because CBDA contains anti-inflammatory properties, it helps to manage those pains well. CBDA works by blocking enzymes and receptors that cause inflammation after infection or injury," says Ponomariovaite.
2. It can decrease anxiety, stress, and depression
The middle-aged stage of life presents additional responsibilities that can lead to more anxiety, stress, and depression. These feelings can be triggered by dealing with aging parents and so much more in this chapter. Ponomariovaite advises that CBDA has been found to be "100 times more potent" than CBD. CBDA helps enhance the total activity of serotonin in your brain, which helps control emotions, balance your mood, and manage stress levels.
"More research has been showing that pure hemp products that contain CBDA help improve the level of serotonin of activity in the brain, which helps moderate emotions and moods, thus stress levels. CBDA has also been shown to have 100 times the serotonin receptor (5-HT) affinity compared to processed CBD. The 5-HT receptor is the active target for the popular class of antidepressant medications known as selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors or SSRI. Nesa's Hemp is backed by a growing body of research that shows products that contain CBDA can help improve the amount of serotonin activity in the brain, which helps to moderate emotions and balance people's moods," she explains.
3. It can improve daily digestion
Another benefit of CBDA? Ponomariovaite tells us, "The digestive system can change while aging as well. CBDA is a great additive to everyday routine to manage the digestive system." She also notes, "Cardiovascular issues or risk for diabetes can increase with age," explaining that CBDA can be helpful to address secondary complications that come along with diabetes, such as renal dysfunction, neuropathies, retinopathy, cataracts, and peripheral neuropathies.
4. It encourages a healthy heart
According to Ponomariovaite, pure CBDA hemp extract has proven to be beneficial as an antioxidant and anti-inflammatory agent, resulting in good things when it comes to a healthy heart.
5. It helps you sleep better
Achieving a sound sleep at night can be disturbed by many things, including insomnia, anxiety, being overtired in the daytime, or REM sleep behavior disorders. CBDA can be helpful in managing these conditions to encourage a more restful night's sleep, as it will typically lower anxiety levels and relax the nervous system. This in turn will lead to better sleeping.
Ponomariovaite explains, "People with insomnia experience a hard time falling asleep at night… Because of this, they are [sleepier] during the day and their mood and concentration are also affected. Poor sleep can also cause anxiety symptoms. Nesa's Hemp is full of CBDA which can help calm the nervous system and allow people to fall asleep faster." She adds that those who suffer from insomnia may experience aggressive leg movements, violent arm jerks, wild behavior, and making vocal noises. "These issues occur in a variety of people, but they mainly occur in people with Alzheimer's or Parkinson's. According to studies, taking CBDA helped people dramatically reduce their REM sleep behaviors, and get more restful sleep."
Ponomariovaite advises that if you take Ness Hemp, which is full of CBDA, it will assist in your ability to have a better quality of sleep at bedtime. In addition, you will feel more awake the next day and well-rested.
