NFL agrees to consider medical cannabis for player pain management

The NFL has not traditionally been the biggest fan of anything cannabis or CBD related. Until now, there’s been a natural distinction between sports and cannabis. Could that all be about to change?

When it comes to professional sports, there’s no room for mistakes. Perhaps that’s why cannabis and anything related to it, even CBD, is something that professional bodies like the NFL have always frowned upon. It stands to reason if you think about it, especially as cannabis use is usually associated with stoned people and that’s the antithesis of what football players are meant to be.

As marijuana debate rages, New York's medical program poised for growth

As recreational marijuana shapes up to be a tough sell for New York lawmakers this session, there is one marijuana deal on the table that appears poised to move with little fanfare.

“It was voted out of the House and the Senate unanimously,” said Coleman Hemphill, president of the Texas Hemp Industries Association, a recently formed chapter of the national Hemp Industries Association nonprofit. Ministry of Hemp is also a member of the HIA.

Vets may soon be able to recommend medical marijuana to sick pets in California

Veterinarians in California may soon be able to recommend medical marijuana for sick pets, writes Calvin Hughes.

Last year, California Governor Jerry Brown (D) signed a bill allowing vets in the state to discuss medical marijuana with pet owners, but they couldn't formally recommend cannabis.

That could soon change, however. On Thursday, the state Senate unanimously passed a bill that would allow pet owners to purchase medical marijuana for their animals if recommended by a qualifying vet.

Can you take cannabis to hotels in legal States?

Having been under onerous prohibition for decades, there were bound to be some teething problems when cannabis started to become legalized.

Legalization in North America has raised many questions. For example, can you take cannabis to your hotel room when on vacation? The age of cannabis legalization is most certainly upon us, with Canada being the most recent on the list to legalize the herb for both medical and recreational. However, in most states where cannabis is legal, on whatever level, consumption is limited to private spaces; usually at home.

Massachusetts Regulators grant initial approval to social use spaces

Members of the state’s Cannabis Control Commission decided late last week to advance plans to regulate social marijuana use facilities.

Regulators voted 3 to 2 in favor of the proposal, which seeks to establish a pilot program in up to a dozen self-selected cities throughout the state. However, implementing the plan will require additional legislative action from lawmakers.
