Study finds cannabis use disorder declining among daily users

Earlier this year, United States Surgeon General Jerome Adams issued a warning about the newfound potency of today’s marijuana.

“This ain’t your mother’s marijuana,” he said. “Not enough people know that today’s marijuana is far more potent than in days’ past.” The statement was picked up by prohibitionists like Alex Berenson and Tucker Carlson as proof positive we should not legalize marijuana nationwide.

How CBD provides a brighter future for children with epilepsy

While families struggle to understand the risks and benefits of THC, some are moving to try CBD or cannabidiol.

Epilepsy affects 3.4 million Americans, according to the Center for Disease Control (CDC). Even more heartbreaking, just over 470,000 children have the disorder of the central nervous system, creating a future of uncertainty for many parents. Often accompanied by seizures and a loss of awareness, children with epilepsy struggle to remain in school and to fit in with their peers.

Marijuana stocks make a swift comeback

For anyone who invests in marijuana stocks, they know that the past few months have not been especially kind to the industry. This is due to a variety of factors including a general uncertainty of the future of the market, as well as some issues with future plans. One of the main reasons for the high level of volatility comes inherently with the infancy of the market. With any infant market, oftentimes people are trading off of speculation rather than the true value of a given business.

Marijuana growers report increasing cross-pollination from hemp farms

Outdoor marijuana growers are reporting an increase in cross-pollination from hemp farms, a development that could mean marijuana cultivators might lose upwards of tens of thousands of dollars if their plants become unmarketable as flower products.

As the marijuana and hemp industries increasingly share the same cultivation territory, the number of conflicts is likely to increase, particularly in areas with thriving outdoor cannabis cultivation.

Marijuana stocks make moves for the holiday season

Wintertime has historically been a period where many marijuana stocks are able to recover from their post-summer lows. The past six months in the pot stock market have definitely left a lot to be desired. The large decline we have seen in that period is due to a variety of factors including shifting legislation and general uncertainty as to where the industry is headed in the next few years. These factors are quite common amongst infant markets and pot stocks are no exception.

How does CBD affect your memory?

Marijuana is not memory’s best friend, though some studies find CBD might improve brain function.

One of the great benefits of smoking marijuana is that there’s rarely any hangovers on the following day. Sadly, the plant still has the capability of rattling your memories.

Cannabis, or THC more precisely, tends to affect people’s cognitive function and short term memory skills, which is why smoking sometimes leaves you feeling a little dumb and spacey. This is all due to THC and the fact that it temporarily attaches itself to parts of the brain that process memory formations. This isn’t the case with cannabidiol (CBD): some studies even claim that the compound can boost memory functions and work on your brain health.

Harvesting, processing hemp may be expensive for new farmers

The USA has a new boom for hemp farmers. Though it is forbidden to consume cannabis at the federal level, 33 states legalized its usage for medical purposes and 11 states don’t mind about you smoking hemp for your personal advantage.

Let’s distinguish the difference between hemp and marijuana. There are over 50 thousands of goods that have hemp as one of the ingredients. They include clothes, cosmetics, beverages, food, construction supplies, etc. These two types of crops are cultivated from one sort of plant, Cannabis sativa L. However, hemp has only 0.3% of THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol), the addictive component of marijuana. This means, that hemp can’t make you high and doesn’t have a similar effect as smoking a joint of marijuana.
