According to a study by the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety, more than half of cannabis users drive within 30 minutes of consuming the substance. Shockingly, 53% admitted to consuming within an hour before driving, while another 20% did so two to three hours prior. Many users believe cannabis does not impair their driving or even improves it. However, experts warn that being high can slow reaction times, reduce focus, and impact decision-making, all of which increase the risk of accidents. So, how do we address this issue? Research suggests that cannabis users are most likely to heed warnings from two key sources: their doctors and the cannabis industry. AAA is urging both to play a role in educating consumers about the dangers of impaired driving. As cannabis use becomes more common, raising awareness and promoting responsible behavior on the road is more crucial than ever. Stay safe and think twice before driving under the influence.   [by Youtube](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5xYtjrbTsz0) [Recreational Cannabis News](https://420intel.com/blog/tag/recreational-cannabis-news) ![Buzz](https://420intel.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Buzz-No%20Outline-2.png?width=200&height=200&name=Buzz-No%20Outline-2.png) #### [Buzz](https://420intel.com/blog/author/buzz) At 420 Intel, we cover cannabis legalization news throughout the world, offer reliable information for cannabis business owners, detail technological advances that impact the marijuana industry, cover marijuana rallies from across the globe, and everything in between. - - - [Recreational Cannabis News](https://420intel.com/blog/tag/recreational-cannabis-news) [![As the Cannabis industry grows, how does law enforcement handle people driving high?](https://420intel.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Imported_Blog_Media/As%20the%20Cannabis%20industry%20grows%2c%20how%20does%20law%20enforcement%20handle%20people%20driving%20high.jpg?width=550&height=395&name=As%20the%20Cannabis%20industry%20grows%2c%20how%20does%20law%20enforcement%20handle%20people%20driving%20high.jpg)](https://420intel.com/blog/cannabis-industry-grows-how-does-law-enforcement-handle-people-driving-high) - [Admin](https://420intel.com/blog/author/admin) - 7 March 2024 #### [As the Cannabis industry grows, how does law enforcement handle people driving high?](https://420intel.com/blog/cannabis-industry-grows-how-does-law-enforcement-handle-people-driving-high) ## As New York's cannabis industry continues to evolve, law enforcement faces a new challenge: people...
