As Americans hunt for dyed eggs, spike their blood sugar levels with Peeps, attend services, enjoy matzoh dishes and memorialize the dearly departed, others may be consuming cannabis products with a sense of ceremony. Recreational marijuana is currently legal in 24 states in the U.S. with the overall cannabis industry expected to pull in nearly $45 billion in sales in 2025; there are scores of 420 events in Los Angeles alone. The unconfirmed lore behind the holiday is that a group of California teens in the 70s would regularly meet up to smoke at 4:20 pm and their use of the time stamp as a code name took off. Marijuana’s high priest and influential cultural figure Snoop Dogg has rapped about his love of cannabis since around the time he was featured on Dr. Dre’s 1992 solo album *The Chronic* (itself a reference to marijuana) and has launched several business ventures in the cannabis industry, including his own weed brand, Leafs by Snoop. With a breezy wit displayed over his thirty-plus-year career (including his breakout commentary during the 2024 Olympics which cemented his global influence), the artist observed the rare confluence of holidays with a simple image of himself as the Easter Bunny on X, formerly Twitter.   [by Hollywood Reporter](https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/general-news/snoop-dogg-on-4-20-cannabis-holiday-easter-sunday-same-day-1236196240/) [Cannabis Business News](https://420intel.com/blog/tag/cannabis-business-news) ![Buzz](https://420intel.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Buzz-No%20Outline-2.png?width=200&height=200&name=Buzz-No%20Outline-2.png) #### [Buzz](https://420intel.com/blog/author/buzz) At 420 Intel, we cover cannabis legalization news throughout the world, offer reliable information for cannabis business owners, detail technological advances that impact the marijuana industry, cover marijuana rallies from across the globe, and everything in between. - - - [Cannabis Politics](https://420intel.com/blog/tag/cannabis-politics) [![8 Predictions for the Cannabis Sector for 2025](https://420intel.com/hs-fs/hubfs/AI-Generated%20Media/Images/The%20image%20depicts%20a%20vibrant%20cannabis%20market%20scene%20in%202025%2c%20bustling%20with%20activity.jpeg?width=550&height=395&name=The%20image%20depicts%20a%20vibrant%20cannabis%20market%20scene%20in%202025%2c%20bustling%20with%20activity.jpeg)](https://420intel.com/blog/8-predictions-for-the-cannabis-sector-for-2025) - [![Buzz](https://420intel.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Buzz-No%20Outline-2.png?width=80&height=80&name=Buzz-No%20Outline-2.png) Buzz](https://420intel.com/blog/author/buzz) - 9 January 2025 #### [8 Predictions for the Cannabis Sector for 2025](https://420intel.com/blog/8-predictions-for-the-cannabis-sector-for-2025) 2024 was a rough year for cannabis investors, but 2025 could be much better.
