Michigan Grown, Never Remediated: Cleaner Cannabis

Rooted in Michigan and built on consistent quality, Pleasantrees is committed to doing things the right way.

Since opening its doors in 2018, what started as a simple cultivation operation quickly expanded into a state-of-the-art cannabis manufacturing and retail business.

As the company turns five, Pleasantrees offers people a quality, honest cannabis experience that never cuts corners. What truly sets them apart, though, is something many shoppers might not even know to look for.

Pleasantrees has and will continue to never remediate their cannabis flower. Here’s why remediation matters.

    What Is remediation?

In simple terms, remediation is a way to clean up cannabis that won’t pass safety tests because of unwanted elements. Some growers use heat, radiation or UV light to remove mold, pesticides or heavy metals from their flower. While this may make the product “safe” by legal standards, it doesn’t make it good.

These methods kill harmful things you do not want to smoke, but they also destroy the natural parts of the plant that makes the cannabis strain distinctive like its smell, flavor and effects.

During the remediation process, the dead mold or other problems aren’t removed from the final product. That means when you smoke or vape remediated cannabis, you may still be consuming the very things that made it unsafe in the first place.

    The never-remediated promise

At Pleasantrees, they believe cannabis should never be “fixed” after it’s grown — it should be grown right from the start. That’s why Pleasantrees has never remediated a single gram of flower.

Not once – even after five years of weekly harvests.

From seed to sale, every step in Pleasantrees’ process is handled in-house. This control means they can keep their products clean and natural without having to use harsh methods later, like remediation.

“We are incredibly proud that 100% of the cannabis, flower or concentrate, that goes into every product we bring to market is grown, produced and packaged under our team’s meticulous oversight,” said Bryan Wickersham, president of Pleasantrees.

That oversight begins at their state-of-the-art facility in Harrison Township, where over 50,000 square feet of operations support one of Michigan’s largest indoor grow spaces. Pleasantrees uses organic oils and helpful insects — not pesticides — to protect their plants. Light and air are carefully controlled to suit each specific strain.

The result? Flower that doesn’t need to be remediated because it was grown with care, right from the beginning.

Cannabis Deli: The premier way to shop flower

Pleasantrees offers its customers a “deli-style” shopping experience. This means that instead of only offering pre-packaged cannabis, customers can see and smell the flower before they buy at the deli counter. Shopping deli is a more personal experience, giving shoppers a closer look at what they’re buying.

Pleasantrees’ new deli system features four simple tiers:

    • Reserve: The top-tier, small-batch flower with rare genetics.
    • Select: Fresh, flavorful strains carefully picked by experts.
    • Choice: Everyday favorites that still meet Pleasantrees’ high standards.
    • Value: Great cannabis at budget-friendly prices.

The staff are trained to guide, not pressure. Whether someone is brand-new or knows exactly what they want, Pleasantrees budtenders are set up to help customers shop a variety of cannabis products across a variety of form factors.

    Enjoy more, worry less

Pleasantrees wants people to enjoy cannabis the way it’s meant to be enjoyed — safely, naturally and on your own terms. Whether you’re relaxing at home, hanging with friends or sparking creativity, Pleasantrees believes cannabis can help make those moments even better. And this focus on the customer experience is what makes Pleasantrees standout amongst the crowded market of dispensaries.

Pleasantrees also strives to be part of the communities it serves. Through their Pleasant Neighbor Program, the company works with other local businesses including Jolly Pumpkin, Clementine’s, Bird and the Bear Bakery and more.

Additionally, Pleasantrees partners with local groups supporting charitable programs and host events that bring people together. They’ve earned bronze status as a Social Equity All-Star from Michigan’s Cannabis Regulatory Agency (CRA) and continue to look for new ways to support the people around them and their retail locations.

Their goal is simple: make great cannabis and be a good neighbor while doing it. For over half a decade, Pleasantrees has made a commitment to quality. The brand strives to find new ways to excel as product and experiential leaders in the Michigan cannabis industry.
