OMAHA, Neb. [WOWT] - More details were revealed in court Wednesday about the shooting of a 16-year-old reported over the weekend.

Two suspects made court appearances Wednesday in Douglas County Court: 18-year-old James Gray-Wilson Jr. and a 17-year-old girl.

Gray-Wilson was formally charged in Douglas County Court on Wednesday morning. If convicted on all five charges, he’s facing the possibility of spending decades in prison.

He has been charged with attempted robbery, used of a deadly weapon to commit a felony, first-degree assault, unlawfully discharging a firearm, and possession of a firearm by a prohibited person.

His bond was set at $250,000.

The girl was formally charged with attempted robbery, use of a deadly weapon to commit a felony, and tampering with evidence. Her bond was set at $50,000, and a preliminary hearing was set for Aug. 1.

According to court documents, the shooting at about 4 a.m. Sunday stemmed from a marijuana deal. The 16-year-old victim told police that she and another woman, who was driving the car, were headed to meet another girl they knew at 14th Street and Cady Avenue and sell her marijuana.

When they got there, that girl approached the car along with two teen males. At one point during the interaction, one of the males reportedly said “show me the weed,” repeating the command as he walked around the vehicle pointing a gun. The other male stood on the opposite side of the vehicle and also pulled out a gun, the document states.

At one point, a gun was pointed at the driver’s head, but the victim pushed the gun away and told her friend to drive away. As they drove off, the two teen males fired at them, hitting one of the teen females in the vehicle. Upon realizing she had been shot, she called 9-1-1, the report states.

Officers said they found two spent 9mm casings and shattered vehicle glass at the scene of the reported shooting. Court records state that surveillance video from a nearby home showed the entire altercation unfold after a silver GMC Envoy stopped in the middle of the street. The video also shows the two males firing at the SUV.

Omaha Police said investigators suspect Gray-Wilson fired the shot that struck the victim. Investigators also said in the affidavit that teen girl who approached the vehicle with the two males stood by as the incident happened, and never made an attempt to flee or call police.
