In the dark of night, the team moved into Tagbul, a district of Langtang Local Government Area, where a five-hectare cannabis farm had been discovered on the boundary between Plateau and Kaba. This bold action forms part of a series of NDLEA Busts aimed at dismantling the drug trade in the region.
Bit by bit, the officers cleared the illegal farm, uprooting and destroying the cannabis plants before setting them ablaze. This decisive step not only sent a strong message to drug barons but also underscored the agency’s renewed commitment to combating drug cultivation. Briefing journalists in Jos, the Plateau State capital, the NDLEA Commander revealed that two suspects linked to the farm had been arrested and are currently under investigation. That farm measured about three acres—further evidence of the disturbing trend of individuals being drawn into cannabis cultivation for financial gain.
