CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT
Vehicle accidents
• A 44-year-old Chehalis man was cited for first-degree negligent driving after he was involved in an injury collision at the intersection of Harrison Avenue and southbound Interstate 5 just after 12 p.m. on May 21.
• A non-injury, two-vehicle collision was reported in the 400 block of South Gold Street at approximately 3 p.m. on May 21. The at-fault driver was issued an infraction.
• A non-injury, two-vehicle collision was reported at the intersection of Harrison and Reynolds avenues just after 11:45 a.m. on May 23.
• A non-injury, two-vehicle collision was reported at the intersection of North Pearl and West Sixth streets just after 1:55 p.m. on May 23.
• A non-injury, two-vehicle collision was reported at the intersection of Johnson Road and Harrison Avenue at 3:05 p.m. on May 23.
• A single-vehicle rollover collision was reported in the 900 block of Harrison Avenue at 12:45 a.m. on May 24. The driver was transported from the scene by an ambulance. A DUI investigation is underway.
Drug violations
• A juvenile was referred on a possession of liquor by a minor charge after they were reportedly found in possession of alcohol at Centralia Middle School in the 900 block of Johnson Road at 8:20 a.m. on May 22.
• A 35-year-old Chehalis man was arrested on outstanding Centralia Municipal Court and Lewis County District Court warrants and for possession of narcotics and drug paraphernalia in the 700 block of H Street just after 7:40 p.m. on May 22.
• Just after 7:50 p.m. on May 24, there was a report that four employees at a business in the 1000 block of Borthwick Street became intoxicated after they consumed cookies at their workplace. It is suspected that the cookies contained cannabis. The incident is under investigation.
• Three juveniles were referred on possession of a controlled substance charges after they were reportedly found in possession of marijuana in the 500 block of East Plum Street at 10:15 p.m. on May 25. One of the juveniles was arrested on an outstanding Lewis County Superior Court warrant.
DUI
• A 33-year-old Seattle man was arrested for DUI after an officer observed him driving in a “dangerous manner” at the intersection of South Gold Street and Northeast Scott Johnson Road just before 2:35 a.m. on May 25.
Nuisance violation
• A 48-year-old Rochester man was cited for lewd conduct at the intersection of West Main and South Iron streets at approximately 11:15 a.m. on May 22.
Burglary
• Copper wire was reported stolen from a construction site in the 1300 block of Kresky Avenue just before 11:30 a.m. on May 22.
• At approximately 10:30 a.m. on May 25, a burglary that occurred in the 1700 block of Sunset Way sometime within the last month was reported.
Malicious mischief
• Damage to the front window of a business in the 400 block of Union Street was reported at 1:10 p.m. on May 22.
• Intentional damage to a vehicle’s paint was reported in the 100 block of North Tower Avenue at approximately 2:05 p.m. on May 23.
Theft
• A 20-year-old Onalaska woman and a 24-year-old Moses Lake man were arrested for stealing candy from a convenience store in the 600 block of South Tower Avenue just after 6:40 p.m. on May 22. The woman was also arrested for identity theft after she allegedly gave officers another person’s name to avoid arrest on outstanding warrants.
• Multiple “expensive handbags and backpacks” were reported stolen from a store in the 1300 block of Lum Road just before 7 p.m. on May 22.
• A juvenile was referred on theft charges after they allegedly shoplifted from a store in the 1000 block of South Yew Street at 5:40 a.m. on May 23.
• A juvenile was arrested at a residence in the 400 block of South Iron Street at 5:40 a.m. on May 23 on a retail theft with special circumstances charge for allegedly being involved in four thefts that occurred over the last two weeks. An adult was also arrested for second-degree rendering criminal assistance for allegedly trying to convince officers that the juvenile was not at the residence.
• A wallet was reported stolen in the 1200 block of Harrison Avenue just after 6 p.m. on May 24.
• A bicycle was reported stolen in the 300 block of North Gold Street at approximately 12:05 p.m. on May 25.
• A string trimmer was reported stolen from the 1200 block of South Tower Avenue just before 2:50 p.m. on May 25.
Criminal Trespass
• A homeless man was trespassed from a property in the 1300 block of Lum Road just before 12:15 p.m. on May 24 after he reportedly refused to leave when asked to do so by staff.
• A homeless woman was trespassed from an apartment complex in the 1300 block of Belmont Avenue just after 8:50 p.m. on May 24 after she reportedly insisted that she lived at the address and began trying to open doors to various units.
• A 52-year-old Tumwater woman was referred on criminal trespass charges in the 1300 block of Belmont Avenue just after 10:15 a.m. on May 25.
• A homeless man was trespassed from a business in the 600 block of North Tower Avenue just after 11:10 a.m. on May 25 after he reportedly harassed employees for money.
Assault
• A 20-year-old Centralia resident was arrested for fourth-degree assault, domestic violence, and unlawful possession of a controlled substance in the 1200 block of Marion Street at 5 p.m. on May 24.
FIRE AND EMS CALLS
• Between Friday morning and Monday morning, Lewis County 911 Communications logged approximately 64 illness-related calls, 29 injury-related calls, six fire-related calls, eight non-emergency service calls, 15 vehicle accidents, one Lifeline medical alert, one suicide-related call, one medical helicopter request, two overdoses and two other calls.
JAIL STATISTICS
• As of Monday morning, the Chehalis Tribal Jail had a total system population of 24 inmates, including 11 booked by the Centralia Police Department, four booked by the state Department of Corrections, two booked by Chehalis Tribal Law Enforcement, three booked by the Quileute Nation in La Push, one booked by the Skokomish Tribe, one booked by Chehalis Tribal Court and one booked by the Tulalip Tribe.
