    Maryland's Pioneer Micro-Grow Cannabis Farm

SALISBURY, Md. — Five hometown friends are making waves with the launch of Maryland’s first micro-grow cannabis farm, a venture rooted in craftsmanship, community, and Eastern Shore pride. Known as Farm Coast, the company was awarded its micro-grow cannabis farm license in July 2024, marking a milestone for local entrepreneurs who are redefining small-scale cultivation in the region.

Since securing their license, the team has been hard at work transforming their vision into reality. The five founders—James, Anthony, Matt, Tim, and Cody are all fathers and lifelong residents of the Eastern Shore. Their shared goal is simple: to bring premium, homegrown cannabis products to their local community while maintaining the personal touch that defines a micro-grow cannabis farm.

“Our focus is really on providing great products that we can stand behind,” said co-founder Anthony Darby. “It’s in our mission and vision to make sure we fulfill that promise to the Eastern Shore community.”

The Farm Coast facility features a creative mix of cultivation methods, combining a repurposed greenhouse with renovated shipping containers to maximize efficiency and sustainability. This innovative approach is one of the hallmarks of a micro-grow cannabis farm, where smaller-scale production allows for greater attention to detail and consistent quality.

“Used responsibly, cannabis can help with stress, sleep, and pain. We want Farm Coast to be the micro-grow cannabis farm people trust when looking for a brand focused on wellness and integrity.”

Farm Coast plans to begin distributing limited batches of its first products by early 2026, with dispensary availability expected by next fall. Managing partner James Russ Jr. highlighted the team’s diverse backgrounds as a major strength. “I’m finally around guys who all see the same vision: great product, happy customers, and always learning and growing,” Russ said.

As the cannabis market expands across Maryland, Farm Coast’s micro-grow cannabis farm stands out as a symbol of local entrepreneurship and sustainable cultivation. By focusing on craftsmanship, quality, and community, the founders hope to set a new standard for the industry.

With its roots planted firmly in the soil of the Eastern Shore, this micro-grow cannabis farm is more than just a business—it’s a homegrown movement built by friends, for their community.
