The business, located in what was once a bank, is owned by husband and wife duo Gregory and Milka Pereira. The family-owned dispensary offers a wide range of products, including kosher goods, catering to various customer needs. For added convenience, the business features a drive-thru, allowing customers to quickly purchase items without having to enter the store. This innovative feature is a unique offering, catering to individuals who prefer a faster, more discreet shopping experience. While cannabis use remains a divisive topic, with some individuals concerned about its potential health risks, Gregory Pereira brings a unique perspective to the conversation. Having spent years working in substance abuse and harm reduction, Gregory has witnessed firsthand the positive effects cannabis can have on people’s lives, including his own family members. He points out the difference between alcohol and cannabis, noting, "Between alcohol and cannabis. Nobody has bar fights with cannabis." For Gregory, cannabis is not just about business—it’s about contributing positively to the community’s health and well-being. The opening of 202 Cannabis Co. was the culmination of over a year of regulatory approvals, which included navigating New York’s complex cannabis licensing process. The dispensary is now part of the growing legal cannabis market in New York State, which, according to the Office of Cannabis Management, boasts over 370 adult-use dispensaries across the state. This milestone represents a significant moment for the town of Haverstraw, as it joins the broader trend of legal cannabis expansion. Since the launch, 202 Cannabis Co. has celebrated its opening with the promise of a wide variety of cannabis products that adhere to strict legal and quality standards. The dispensary’s opening is not just a business achievement; it’s a testament to the progress of New York's evolving cannabis landscape, providing access to safe, regulated cannabis products for adults who choose to use them. For the Pereira family, 202 Cannabis Co. is more than just a store—it’s a way to help shift the conversation around cannabis use and provide a positive impact on the community. As the business grows, they aim to continue fostering a healthier, more informed community, with a focus on safety, education, and responsible cannabis use.   [by News 12 - Westchester](https://westchester.news12.com/haverstraws-first-legal-cannabis-dispensary-officially-opens)   [Cannabis Business News](https://420intel.com/blog/tag/cannabis-business-news) ![Buzz](https://420intel.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Buzz-No%20Outline-2.png?width=200&height=200&name=Buzz-No%20Outline-2.png) #### [Buzz](https://420intel.com/blog/author/buzz) At 420 Intel, we cover cannabis legalization news throughout the world, offer reliable information for cannabis business owners, detail technological advances that impact the marijuana industry, cover marijuana rallies from across the globe, and everything in between. - - - [Recreational Cannabis News](https://420intel.com/blog/tag/recreational-cannabis-news) [![Delaware Hits $7.3M in 1st Month of Cannabis Sales!](https://420intel.com/hs-fs/hubfs/elsa-olofsson-iuNer2YntDY-unsplash.jpg?width=550&height=395&name=elsa-olofsson-iuNer2YntDY-unsplash.jpg)](https://420intel.com/blog/delaware-hits-7.3m-in-1st-month-of-cannabis-sales) - [![Buzz](https://420intel.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Buzz-No%20Outline-2.png?width=80&height=80&name=Buzz-No%20Outline-2.png) Buzz](https://420intel.com/blog/author/buzz) - 4 September 2025 #### [Delaware Hits $7.3M in 1st Month of Cannabis Sales!](https://420intel.com/blog/delaware-hits-7.3m-in-1st-month-of-cannabis-sales) **DELAWARE —** The First State’s new recreational cannabis market is off to a fast start, generating...
