Deputies Seize $3,920 And 149 THC Vapes In Car Bust

Minnesota Man Sentenced After Deputies Seize 149 THC Vapes in Becker County

A Minnesota man has been sentenced after law enforcement found nearly 150 THC Vapes and a large quantity of marijuana during a February 2025 traffic stop in Becker County. According to court records, Dominic Lewis Kroulik, 26, of rural Waubun, pleaded guilty to felony first-degree cannabis possession after being caught with 149 THC Vapes and over 1.5 pounds of marijuana.

The incident began on February 26, 2025, when deputies stopped a vehicle on Becker County Road 21 after receiving reports of erratic driving and a liquor bottle being thrown from the window. During the vehicle search, officers discovered $3,920 in cash, a box of ammunition, and a large stash of THC Vapes hidden in the car. The THC Vapes, each containing 2,000 milligrams, totaled approximately 298 grams of THC concentrate.

Investigators reported that Kroulik was a passenger in the vehicle. Another man in the car claimed he had arranged to purchase the marijuana and THC Vapes through Snapchat. The two were later charged, although Kroulik’s other charges — including felon in possession of ammunition — were dropped under a plea deal.

During sentencing on September 19, District Judge Michelle W. Lawson handed Kroulik a 15-month prison sentence, stayed for five years. He must serve 15 days in jail and complete five years of supervised probation. The court also fined him $500 and ordered a comprehensive assessment with follow-up treatment as part of his probation conditions.

Authorities noted that Kroulik was already prohibited from possessing firearms or ammunition due to a prior conviction for threats of violence. His connection to the THC Vapes trafficking case adds to concerns about illegal cannabis product distribution in Minnesota, especially as unlicensed THC Vapes continue to circulate across state lines.

The rise in THC Vapes cases has caught the attention of law enforcement across the Midwest. Officials say social media platforms like Snapchat and Instagram have become popular tools for arranging illegal THC Vapes sales.

Meanwhile, in a separate case, another Becker County man, Dewayne Eugene Bower, was arrested in Callaway on unrelated drug charges. The increase in such arrests highlights ongoing concerns about synthetic drugs, THC Vapes, and methamphetamine distribution throughout the region.

As authorities continue to crack down on THC Vapes, the Becker County Sheriff’s Office urges residents to report suspicious activity and avoid unregulated cannabis products that could lead to severe legal consequences.
