With cannabis use legal in one form or another in a total of 23 states, more and more recruits are testing positive for cannabis use, adding to the country’s military recruitment problems. An amendment has been proposed to the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) to scrap cannabis testing on enlistment to the military or when a military member is receiving commission as an officer. In a public statement, Representative Matt Gaetz of Florida, who proposed the amendment, commented: “Our military is facing a recruitment and retainment crisis unlike any other time in American history. I do not believe that prior use of cannabis should exclude Americans from enlisting in the armed forces. “We should embrace them for stepping up to serve our country.” The amendment proposal follows recent calls on the The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to enable access to medical cannabis for veterans. ## For more Cannabis News like this, circle back to [420intel.com](https://420intel.com/)! ## [420 Intel News](https://420intel.com/content/about-us) | [420 Advertising](https://420intel.com/contact/advertising_opportunities) | [Cannabis Business News](https://420intel.com/articles/marijuana-business-news) | [Medical Marijuana News](https://420intel.com/articles/medical-cannabis-news) | [Recreational Marijuana News](https://420intel.com/articles/recreational-marijuana-news) [Recreational Cannabis News](https://420intel.com/blog/tag/recreational-cannabis-news) [Cannabis Jobs](https://420intel.com/blog/tag/cannabis-jobs) [Medical Cannabis News](https://420intel.com/blog/tag/medical-cannabis-news) #### [Admin](https://420intel.com/blog/author/admin) [Recreational Cannabis News](https://420intel.com/blog/tag/recreational-cannabis-news) [![Pennsylvania Police Arrest 32 People A Day For Cannabis Possession - More Than Any Other State](https://420intel.com/hs-fs/hubfs/pexels-cottonbro-10480623.jpg?width=550&height=395&name=pexels-cottonbro-10480623.jpg)](https://420intel.com/blog/pennsylvania-police-arrest-32-people-a-day-for-cannabis-possession-more-than-any-other-state) - [![Buzz](https://420intel.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Buzz-No%20Outline-2.png?width=80&height=80&name=Buzz-No%20Outline-2.png) Buzz](https://420intel.com/blog/author/buzz) - 2 October 2024 #### [Pennsylvania Police Arrest 32 People A Day For Cannabis Possession - More Than Any Other State](https://420intel.com/blog/pennsylvania-police-arrest-32-people-a-day-for-cannabis-possession-more-than-any-other-state) ## Pennsylvania police arrest an average of 32 people daily for cannabis possession, highlighting the...
