It is probably no surprise that former Bengals cornerback Adam "Pacman" Jones smokes marijuana, but he admitted on his recent [podcast/YouTube show](https://www.youtube.com/shorts/N9ytZYSUhj8) that he smoked weed before every game. > *"I had to smoke before the games," said Jones. "The one year that I was in the (NFL "Intervention Program") I really didn't play that good. It kind of messed up my routine of things, and could've played a whole lot better, but I didn't. So, I thought that me smoking was my way of getting my things together to get ready to play."* NFL players have long lobbied for marijuana to be allowed to use as a pain suppressant after games. The NFL has softened its position on marijuana recently, essentially to a non-existent state, but just a handful of years ago it was an entirely different story. Players who tested positive for THC faced short or season-long suspensions. Jones played in the NFL from 2005-18, including from 2010-17 with the Bengals. He missed the 2007 due to a violation of the NFL's personal conduct policy and missed the entire 2009 season.   [By Local 12](https://www.local12.com/sports/bengals/gallery/former-cincinnati-bengals-player-adam-pacman-jones-admits-smoke-smoked-marijuana-before-games-pain-injuries-nfl-pro-football-intervention-program?photo=2) ### **For more Cannabis News like this, circle back to **[**420intel.com**](https://420intel.com/)**!** ### [**420 Intel News**](https://420intel.com/content/about-us)** | **[**420 Advertising**](https://420intel.com/contact/advertising_opportunities)** | **[**Cannabis Business News**](https://420intel.com/articles/marijuana-business-news)** | **[**Medical Marijuana News**](https://420intel.com/articles/medical-cannabis-news)** | **[**Recreational Marijuana News**](https://420intel.com/articles/recreational-marijuana-news) [Medical Cannabis News](https://420intel.com/blog/tag/medical-cannabis-news) ![Buzz](https://420intel.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Buzz-No%20Outline-2.png?width=200&height=200&name=Buzz-No%20Outline-2.png) #### [Buzz](https://420intel.com/blog/author/buzz) At 420 Intel, we cover cannabis legalization news throughout the world, offer reliable information for cannabis business owners, detail technological advances that impact the marijuana industry, cover marijuana rallies from across the globe, and everything in between. - - - [Cannabis Business News](https://420intel.com/blog/tag/cannabis-business-news) [![New Marijuana dispensary OK’d for former fast food Joint in Woodstock](https://420intel.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Imported_Blog_Media/New%20Marijuana%20dispensary%20OK%E2%80%99d%20for%20former%20fast%20food%20joint%20in%20Woodstock.jpg?width=550&height=395&name=New%20Marijuana%20dispensary%20OK%E2%80%99d%20for%20former%20fast%20food%20joint%20in%20Woodstock.jpg)](https://420intel.com/blog/new-marijuana-dispensary-okd-former-fast-food-joint-woodstock) - [![Buzz](https://420intel.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Buzz-No%20Outline-2.png?width=80&height=80&name=Buzz-No%20Outline-2.png) Buzz](https://420intel.com/blog/author/buzz) - 5 September 2024 #### [New Marijuana dispensary OK’d for former fast food Joint in Woodstock](https://420intel.com/blog/new-marijuana-dispensary-okd-former-fast-food-joint-woodstock) Woodstock City Council Approves Former Burger King Site for Marijuana Dispensary.
