7 Radical Shifts In B2B Buying

As I write in my latest book, The Radical Sales Shift, the B2B buyer of today is different from the buyer of five and fifteen years ago. We’re in the midst of radical shift towards a new way of buying, which means B2B companies have to rethink their marketing and sales strategies.

Just how is the buyer today different?  Here are seven key ways the New Buyer is different from her predecessors and what it means for how she behaves when buying.

Marijuana legislation backers pledge support of unions

LORAIN — The company that will grow marijuana at a proposed Lorain facility will allow its workers to organize into a union if voters approve a marijuana legalization constitutional amendment this fall, the company’s leadership announced Tuesday.

“This company will be a driver of economic growth in this community and will be an example of why respecting workers’ rights is simply good business,” Bobby George, principal owner of RG1 LLC, said during a news conference put on by ResponsibleOhio, the group pushing legalization of the medical and personal use of marijuana.

Imagine if the media covered alcohol like other drugs

What if the media covered alcohol like it does other drugs? This was a question that came up in my coverage of flakka, a synthetic drug that made headlines after law enforcement blamed it for people running in the streets naked in delusional paranoia. What follows is a satirical attempt at capturing that same type of alarmist reporting, but for a substance that really causes widespread and severe problems.

NEW ORLEANS — An ongoing drug epidemic has swept the US, killing hundreds and sickening thousands more on a daily basis.

Photos: California's ‘Get Baked’ Sale pairs marijuana, munchies

Sugary drinks might be in San Francisco Supervisors’ crosshairs, but sugary cannabis-infused edibles got a warm welcome over the weekend.

California’s world-class marijuana and food cultures fused like never before at the first annual Get Baked! Sale — pairing Bay Area medical marijuana edibles makers and their hungry patients.

Hundreds of attendees Saturday paid upwards of $30 per person to enter the SOMA StrEat Food Park — a food truck hub in SOMA — for eight hours of free samples, shopping, music and non-medicated eats.

Cannabis industry pioneer is poised to help stabilize production, distribution and pricing issues across Colorado

The CEO of Denver-based Kindman announces the expansion of his production and packaging facilities, an action that should help to stabilize the pricing of cannabis

DENVER (June 15, 2015) -- One of Colorado’s flagship legal marijuana growers and distributors is expanding its operations; part of an effort its chief executive says will go a long way towards stabilizing the currently volatile pricing of cannabis.

As the Colorado Pot Guide web site recently noted, prices for legal cannabis have dropped significantly this year, due to the explosion of “grow only” operations across the state. That oversupply is good for consumers, but is forcing companies to lower their prices in order to remain competitive.

Marijuana Policy Project: Mass. pot legalization will help jobs, hurt gangs

Legalizing marijuana in Massachusetts would create thousands of jobs in a newly regulated market, snatch a lucrative business away from "gangs and cartels" and generate new tax revenues for government, according to the political director of legalization efforts in five states, including Massachusetts.

During a televised interview broadcast on Sunday morning, Matt Simon of the  Marijuana Policy Project told WCVB-TV's "On the Record" that he believes an initiative petition being drafted to legalize marijuana will be approved "overwhelmingly" after a debate over impacts in states where it is already legal, including Colorado and Washington.

LAs Reigning Queen of Cannabis is a Pot Doctor to the Stars

(JTA) – Stepping into the lobby of the West Hollywood medical marijuana dispensary where Dina Browner serves up buds to movie stars, it’s hard to miss the name Snoop Lion splashed across a hydroponic grow box painted red, green and gold.

The Rastafarian rapper formerly known as Snoop Dogg didn’t have anyone to operate the custom-made indoor marijuana greenhouse that came as a gift from its manufacturer, so he asked his “doctor” to keep it filled with cannabis flowers.

Patchwork of Pot Rules Hampers Marijuana Business Expansion

DENVER – Marijuana entrepreneurs rushing into the booming market are running headlong into a patchwork of state-by-state regulations that make it hard to transfer their expertise, brands and staff— and even their profits.

Because the federal government classifies marijuana as a Schedule 1 drug, states that have legalized medical or recreational marijuana have developed widely divergent rules governing their semi-legal marketplaces.

In Colorado, for instance, retailers until recently had been required to grow the majority of the marijuana they sell to customers. But Washington state bans retailers from growing their own cannabis, forcing them to buy from state-licensed farms.
