Multi-state cannabis company, Verano Holdings Corp., started a fundraising campaign with their BITS™ edibles product for Breast Cancer Awareness Month with a portion of the proceeds going to the Lynn Sage Breast Cancer Foundation.

As the month of October comes around, fall colors aren’t the only thing you’ll see. Often, you’ll encounter the color “pink” because October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. To help raise awareness for breast cancer, multi-state cannabis company, Verano Holdings Corp. (Verano), started a fundraising campaign called “Save the Bits”. According to a recent press release (1), Verano will be donating a portion of their proceeds from the sale of their BITS™ edibles product which is offered at hundreds of cannabis dispensaries found in eight states to the Lynn Sage Breast Cancer Foundation.

The fundraiser will start on October 1, 2024, and run through the month of October. Inside the packages of their BITS™ edibles product will be a “Save the Bits” sticker to help support the initiative of eradicating breast cancer, as well as a QR code which will bring consumers to a location where they can learn more information and “education on the campaign’s mission” (1). The “Save the Bits” campaign, “…will be supported with in-store and digital education elements to provide further awareness of this important cause across 225 dispensaries in eight states – comprised of 134 of the Company’s Zen Leaf and MÜV dispensaries and 91 participating third-party dispensaries,” (1). According to the press release (1), at least 40 third-party cannabis companies will participate in this initiative in various states such as, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Arizona, Maryland, Illinois, Massachusetts, Florida, and Nevada, with digital and in-store activations. The BITS™ edibles are low-dose and high-functioning and offered in five flavor varieties that contain 5 mg of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and other adaptogens/cannabinoids (1).

Laura Sage, Executive Director of the Lynn Sage Breast Cancer Foundation stated (1), “The Lynn Sage Breast Cancer Foundation is honored to partner with BITS™ to fund cutting-edge breast cancer trials that are accessible to a diverse group of patients. We are grateful for their generosity and continued support of the 1:8 women diagnosed with breast cancer.”

“We are thrilled to launch the Save the Bits campaign in partnership with our peers in the cannabis community to benefit the Lynn Sage Breast Cancer Foundation,” George Archos, Verano Founder and Chief Executive Officer commented (1). “Save the Bits is a powerful demonstration of the cannabis industry’s ability to deliver positive benefits for communities and important causes across the country, and we’re proud to stand together and support the fight against Breast Cancer throughout October.”
