Almost 100 pounds of processed marijuana was found in packages at the Dollar General in Corning last month, according to the Corning Police Department (CPD).

Officers were called out on Aug. 14 for reports of suspicious packages. Employees told the CPD they could smell a strong odor of marijuana coming from the four boxes.

Police say each box was a different size, and labeled with a different shipping address to various places in multiple states across the country.

The CPD says it's common for people who are transporting drugs to prepackage, label, and use drop-off locations to avoid being caught on surveillance.

Corning Police were able to identify the person who brought in the boxes. They tracked it back to a local businesses, which has since closed. (Corning Police Department)
