14-year-old charged after bringing suspected Cannabis to middle school

CHARLES COUNTY - A Charles County student was charged Tuesday after the 14-year-old was found with marijuana on school grounds, the Charles County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) said.

Deputies said just before 12 p.m., Benjamin Stoddert Middle School administrators said they detected the odour of cannabis emanating from the student and recovered suspected marijuana.

The student is being charged with a Juvenile Civil Citation for possession of fewer than 1.5 ounces of cannabis and faces school-based sanctions from Charles County Public Schools.
