Two people hurt after fire breaks out at Oklahoma Marijuana processing facility
OKLAHOMA - Investigators say a fire broke out at an illegal marijuana processing facility in Logan County.
Crews were called to the facility near Sonner and E. Charter Oak Road around four Thursday afternoon.
Two people were taken to the hospital after sustaining injuries from the fire.
Officials are now raising questions about the facility after they say they found major safety violations.
The Oklahoma State Fire Marshal's Office says the property did not have any building or construction permits. According to investigators, the facility did not have medical marijuana permits either.
Investigators also found butane gas inside the facility. Officials say the gas seller could also get in trouble for selling to an unpermitted buyer.
Firefighters at the scene told FOX 25 that the mixture of chemicals and the metal structure both created challenges for crews as they worked to put the fire out.
Right now, the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
Officials have not yet said if any charges or fines will follow what investigators discovered at the facility.
