Rudding Park luxury hotel and spa in Harrogate, England, is one of the first in the country to introduce a new series of treatments that incorporate cannabis.

The new assortment of services will incorporate cannabidiol (CBD), the psychoactive but non-intoxicating compound derived from the cannabis plant.

New treatments will include CBD-infused baths, edibles, beverages and massages in collaboration with cannabis company MariPharm to create a variety of treatments that are intended to reduce anxiety, pain and inflammation and promote anti-aging, and assist with the maintenance of good mental health.

Guests will also be able to add a “CBD Experience” to many of the existing treatments for an additional £15 (about CA$25). Rudding Park has pledged to donate £2 from every CBD Experience to the Sir Robert Ogden Macmillan Centre, which provides treatment and health services for patients diagnosed with cancer.

“As a natural ingredient, research has shown CBD can help with an array of ailments which makes it hugely appealing to those who care about what they eat, drink or apply to their skin,” says Rudding Park spa manager Sarah Johnson. “As a new trend taking the wellness and beauty world by storm, it’s important for us to embrace CBD so we can offer guests what they are looking from a spa experience.”

CBD products are legal in the UK, as long as they contain less than 0.2% THC, the intoxicating compound in the cannabis plant. Rudding Park’s new spa facilities include 11 treatment rooms, steam rooms, indoor and outdoor pools, and saunas.
