“Cannabis is a really hot space right now, and we’re happy to partner with one of the industry’s creative leaders as we take cannabis programming to the mainstream in new and exciting ways,” says John Brunton, chairman and CEO of Insight Productions, one of Canada’s leading producers, including being the creator of such programs as The Amazing Race Canada, Big Brother Canada and The JUNO Awards.

“As stigma fades, we’re seeing a surge of interest around cannabis—not only from those who consume it, but particularly from the masses of the canna-curious who want to learn more and see what’s behind the curtain,” comments Derek Riedle, publisher of Civilized.

“We’ve always believed that cannabis deserves a place in the mainstream, and this development deal is a tremendous step in that direction. We can’t wait for our fans to see what we have in store for them,” Riedle says.

“This is an exciting space for us to collaborate in with Civilized, and we’re looking forward to bringing some innovative content to the market together,” adds Tanya Low, Insight’s vice-president of development.

Low will oversee the creative on behalf of Insight, while Riedle will oversee creative direction for Civilized.
