Cannabis dispensary owners submit permit application

DOVER – The owners of the medical cannabis dispensing site planned for Dover will discuss their conditional use application with the Dover Planning Board next Tuesday in efforts to gain approval for the project.

This summer, the Dover City Council approved a zoning ordinance that detailed where medical cannabis facilities could locate in the city and required medical cannabis companies to apply for conditional use permits issued by the Dover Planning Board.

Temescal Wellness, Inc. is the non-profit organization that submitted the application. They were selected by the New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) to operate medical cannabis Alternative Treatment Centers, or ATC's, in Region 1 and Region 3. There are four medical marijuana regions in the state. Region 1 encompasses Strafford, Rockingham and Belknap counties. Per state law, qualified medical cannabis patients do not have to get medical cannabis from the region where they live.
